A group of 20 displaced Iraqi refugee girls amused the audience with a fashion show displaying colorful dresses designed and tailored by themselves, and it was held in the Jordanian capital Amman.

The girls created their own fashion brand called "Rafedin," which means the two main rivers in Iraq, the Tigris and the Euphrates.

These girls dream of a better life after being forced to leave their country under the threats from ISIS.

Sound bite:
Priest Mario Cornioli - founder of the project:
“today we make this fashion show and it was wonderful because we are very proud of our works and I get a few girls because they show that even if they were rejected. They can make wonderful things.”

"Rafedin" was established in March 2016 by an Italian priest Mario Cornioli and two seamstresses from southern Italy.

“Rafedin” creates a mix between east and west with the Italian cuts , the patterns on fabrics and the oriental colors which combines Middle-Eastern and Western taste.

The dresses will feature the label "Made by Iraqi Girls" and will be shown at the Italian Cerignola, a city in the Apulia region.
