The parents of missing British girl Madeleine McCann say reports they received a letter
from German authorities telling them their daughter was dead are false.
In a statement, Kate and Gerry McCann said the "unsubstantiated stories caused unnecessary anxiety to friends and family" and once again disrupted their lives.
Reports surfaced this week suggesting German prosecutors wrote to the McCanns telling them they had 'concrete evidence' their daughter was dead.
The prime suspect in Madeleine McCann's disappearance, known as Christian B, remains in a German prison for unrelated crimes.
